Kensington Palace, was the residence of the Royal Family until 1837 when Queen Victoria moved into Buckingham Palace. King William III was the first monarch to live there in the late 1600s and other monarchs who resided here include Queen Anne, who also died here in 1714. Queen Anne’s successor King George I lived at Kensington Palace, as did his son King George II. In 1819 Queen Victoria was born at Kensington Palace. Diana Princess of Wales lived at Kensington Palace. Her memorial is nearby.
